Location: Barn House
We arrived on set at 9am after collecting a new camera (they we prayed would work) hoping to film what we intended to film at the weekend.
We began by having a few adjustment problems, in terms of lighting of the camera and position of the camera, but after about 10 minutes of adjusting the settings we managed to sort it.
Problems that we faced:
1. The lighting of the house was somewhat dull, and it was making our shots very dimly lit (even with the aid of inside lights).
2. We found that the space was very crowded, and that caused us great difficult in framing our shots.
3. The props and overall ambience of the house was slightly dated, we wanted it to be homely but with a modern twist and we found that it looked very old and that we looked very out of place.
4. The zoom on the camera seemed to have a life of its own, and it would change itself without us touching it which ment getting still shots was almost impossible!
5. And finally, to put the icing on the cake, the camera battery died within an hour of use (despite it being fully charged when we picked it up AND us turning it off inbetween uses).
So, the new plan of action!
We have decided that a change of location is needed, we are now going to film in Sophie's house. We chose her house because it still has the homely feel that the barn house had but it is slightly more modern (and also better lit!).
We abandoned filming when the camera died, and even though we are planning to film again on friday, it has put us almost a week behind schedule. However, on a brighter note we are already ahead of schedule so it isn't a huge problem that we are behind. AND due to the location change it means it will be easier for us to make visits to it on a more regular basis, so we don't have the added worry of having to involve outside members of our production.
